L’Aurore
L’Aurore, meaning dawn, is a part of my Atmospheric Scintillations series, which is inspired by the vibrant hues of sunsets and sunrises along the Front Range.
The opalescent color of light at dawn can be truly spellbinding. The clouds, adorned with vibrant shades of lilac, orange, red, and gold, create a stunning spectacle. This captivating sight is a result of the scattering of sunlight by tiny particles in the atmosphere. As the light passes through the atmosphere, shorter wavelengths such as blue and violet are scattered, allowing longer wavelengths such as red and orange to dominate the sky during dawn. The interplay of colors and clouds during this magical time of the day is enough to leave anyone in awe of nature’s beauty.
